Congratulations Central Square Lioness Club

The Central Square Lioness Club was recently awarded the Oswego County Tourism Advisory Board ,  Ambassadors of the Year Award.

The entire board was on hand at the County Legislature meeting room to receive the award.

The Lioness Club has worked tirerlessly every year to bring the public a wonderful event, The Applefest, of Central Square.

Dave Bardoun Surveying Donates Services

Town of Hastings officials recently acknowledged the generosity of Dave Bardoun.  The surveying company,  bearing his name, completed the survey and mapping of the Town of Hastings Veteran Memorial Park on County Rt. 49.

“Dave’s donation is so much appreciated.  The mapping will help us with future plans for Veteran’s Park.” stated Mark Bombardo Director of Community Planning and Development.

Hastings Lighthouse open for viewing

On Friday  August 5, from 10 am to noon , and Saturday August 6, from 4 pm to 6 pm the Brewerton Rear Range Lighthouse will be a bonus site on this years Lake Ontario Lighthouse challenge. The lighthouse was built in 1917 along the Erie Canal system.   It is one of the Three Sisters used to guide navigation through Oneida Lake.

Visitors to the lighthouse will have an unique opportunity to view the inside of the structure.  No one will be allowed to climb to the top.

 

 

 

 

Central Square Fire Department Generously Allows Local Non-For-Profit use of their parking lot for weekend Barbeques

Pretty much every weekend  you can have a barbeque chicken or rib dinner at the Central Square Fire Department’s parking lot.  Local  organizations  run the event, schools clubs, sport groups, or service  organizations.  The fire department is located at the corner of Rt.49 and Rt. 11.  Upcoming barbeque  for July and August

July 3 celebrations Craft show and Fireworks

In conjunction with the Fireworks on the River, the Fort Brewerton/Greater  Oneida Lake Chamber will host a Craft/Vendor Show and Kid’s Zone in Brewerton during the day leading up the the Fireworks.
